Marketing Event Management System

Overview

This client holds thousands of local marketing events across the country, hosted by its field offices. Raffles and giveaways are held and leads are collected. They needed a way to collect the lead data, coupled with responses to a few strategic questions, and integrate the data into a CRM effort where the leads could then be contacted by phone and email with discount offers. Client wanted real-time visibility to event activity, CRM activity, and subsequent conversion rates.

Challenge

  • Development of a robust database to house all of the info collected from the field events.
  • Client wanted to use 600+ iPads in the field, with the flexibility to allow for possible web integrations later on.
  • SSO integration with the client's system would be required, so security was paramount. The solution would have to pass rigorous security testing, as well as significant load & performance testing.
  • No data could be stored on the devices themselves -- all content had to be transmitted to/from a secure server.

Result/Summary

PDS designed a system of platform-agnostic APIs and partnered with another vendor (using Agile/Scrum framework) to handle the front-end app development on the iOS platform. The API system was hosted in PDS' Tier III data center providing for security, HA (high availability) rating, and disaster recovery certifications.

The system handled all of the app's functionality -- secure integration with client's systems, reference lookups, data collection, data scrub, integration with call center and email blast vendor, and robust drill-down reporting for the field and corporate management.

Our client was extremely pleased with the results and continues to modify and expand its usage and functionality each year.
